On 31 October 1977, I was 13 and my world fell apart. I knew my mum was ill but it came as a terrible shock to be told mum had died. I never got to say goodbye.
Mum was the age I am now when she passed away, mum was only 51 and I've decided to run a Marathon in her memory.
On 17 April I will be running the Brighton marathon, when it gets tough I will think about mum, my boys who will be waiting at the finish line and the youngsters that Vicky helps.
I'm raising money for a small charity called Touchstones Support, they work and support children who have suffered a bereavement.
I know first hand the pain, hurt and fear that a loss can cause, nobody has a magic wand to make everything better but Vicky and Touchstones make such a difference to these young people, helping them to be happy again and enjoy their childhood.
Please sponsor me if you can, it's a fantastic charity that is run by just one amazing lady!
