I did it! and it WAS hard and hilly. Thanks to all for your amazing support and I'll be in touch to thankyou all personally. I wanted to lay down and cry at 23 miles....... On June 18th I am running the 'hellishly hard and hilly' South Downs Trail Marathon in support of a local charity, Brighton Youth Centre. They are a great organisation that offers a safe and supportive environment for young people all over the city, with kinds of activities, events and support. My son Joe discovered and learned skateboarding through BYC last year. I followed him with adult lessons and now we now skate together. I'm running the marathon in the name of BYC's skatepark fundraising campaign. http://www.brightonyouthcentre.org.uk/skateparkreform BYC has run the only indoor skate park in Brighton for over 15 years. The last few years have seen the programme expand greatly and over 150 young people use the facility each week. As a charity constantly struggling with funding support, the park is now sadly falling into a state of disrepair through constant use. It has reached a point where something drastic must be done in order to stop the facility from being lost altogether. BYC have been working hard for the last few months to raise money through lots of different means and are now on their way to being able to make some great changes but they still need some help to get there. I hope that with your support I can help them get over that last hurdle and be able to do everything they're hoping to. Check out BYC's website to see everything they do and what they've managed so far http://www.brightonyouthcentre.org.uk/
