SDZ Length of Ireland Cycle 2022 will be a challenge, but a group of friends are preparing to do just that, beginning in Cork and cycling to Donegal at Easter to raise funds for Suicide Down to Zero.
They will start their route on Monday 18th April 2022 and head for Malin Head, Donegal, arriving there on Thurday 21st April 2022, ready for a well deserved pint!
Ten local men decided that cycling the whole way from one end of Ireland to the other, was a great opportunity to raise funds for the charity SDZ.
This cycle route is something they have been considering for a while and wanted to support a worthwhile charity whilst doing so. The group stated that suicide unfortunately touches most people in their lifetime and certainly has in this area. They advised that every penny raised will go towards reducing the number of people dying by suicide here, down to zero.
''We hope the community will come together and support our challenge. As we push through the miles on our journey, we are reminding our family, friends, neighbours, community and entire area that there is always hope, suicide is never the only option.''
Thank you, Peter Ritchie, Donnan Ritchie, Eamon Dalton, Nicky Casement, Seamus Carville, Gerard Grant, Niall Montgomery, Marty McIlmail, Leonard Smyth and Brendan Duffy.
