Geraint and I will be running the Swansea half marathon in aid of a Charity very close to our hearts, Street Football Wales (SFW), we have both been involved in this amazing charity since 2007 and we are looking to raise much needed funds to take a male & female team to take to the Homeless World Cup in Chile in October.
I was lucky enough to get selected to play in the Homeless World Cup in Milan in 2009 which was an amazing personal experience for myself and has helped me move on in my life.
Geraint was later selected to play at the Homeless World Cup in Mexico in 2012 which was also an amazing experience for him.
We have both have had very difficult times in our lives so we are attempting the half marathon as we want to give something back to SFW, a charity that has helped us overcome many barriers that we have faced in recent years. We have both succeeded massively in the last year or so by now being employed SFW.
We are also now assistant managers of the female and male Homeless World Cup teams of which we are really overwhelmed by, but this has been as a result of SFW providing the platform. The half marathon is going to be a gruelling challenge for the pair of us and we know its going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to get through the 13 miles.
Let the early morning training sessions commence
