After some deliberating and encouragement from those around me, I have decided to sign up for a half marathon. Some friends and I will be taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2024.

Anyone who knows me, knows this is a huge challenge for me - my little legs do not make for a natural runner! A big motivation for me is however the cause I have chosen to raise money for. A lot of you likely will not have heard of The Life Chance Trust; their values and cause very much align with my passion for supporting children, young people and all having equal opportunities.
The Life Chance Trust is a charity seeking to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people in our communities: those for whom childhood trauma, including abuse and neglect,  social or educational difficulties make growing up especially hard. Life Chance Trust’s personalised mentoring and coaching, practical and wellbeing support ensures each young person gets the right help on their journey to adulthood – creating the good health, happiness, confidence and resilience they need, deserve, and transforming their chances in life.

I have been a Child Protection Social Worker for close to 4 years and day to day, feel the limited support there is for children who have experienced trauma. Long waitlists and lack of funding have been exacerbated since the Covid pandemic, which is why it is so important to support small charities like Life Chance Trust. Like many charities, they really do rely on donations to keep providing support to children to promote their happiness, wellbeing and best outcomes.

I would be extremely grateful for any donations anyone is able to provide! Despite the challenge, I am taking it in my stride and looking forward to getting across the finish line!

Thank you so much
