We provide help in a relaxed, non-pressurised setting to improve the client's confidence and skills. Our services include one-to-one help with CVs, Application Forms, Covering Letters, Interview Techniques and Jobsearch. All our services are free including use of internet, phone, fax, photocopying and printing. We signpost individuals to further education, training organisations, voluntary work and other agencies. We also provide basic IT training in use of email and internet

Whilst serving the whole of the Colchester area, our centre is located in the Greenstead Estate which is an area of significant deprivation. Colchester Borough Council, in giving their reasons to support Signpost, stated that: The work that Signpost carries out helps assist CBC to achieve one of its strategic aims - 'enabling job creation'. This is of particular relevance in the current economic climate.

In 2009-10 we had over 500 new visitors to the centre and previous visitor surveys suggest that over 50% of them will have gained employment. In total there were over 5,000 visits made and the figures for the first 6 months indicate that this figure will rise substantially this year.
