Skata Tones 'Hands Up' To Support Tonic

Skata Tones make their home at the festival, bringing a distinct brand of lively ‘bangers’ and an impossibly energetic performance to packed tents filled to bursting with excitable ravers and revellers.

The unstoppable explosion of ska madness that is Skata Tones will have you skanking and jumping with every beat. Front-man Robbie presents infectious, energetic, original songs that blend intense reggae, ska and dub beats, driving basslines and blistering guitar chops with crazy brass antics.

Following the much-acclaimed 2018 album A Day At The Fair - a tribute to the festival scene, 2020 holds a string of exciting singles on digital release. The tracks recorded over an intense week in the studio feature three brand new songs and three Skata Tones classics that have been given a fresh update.

The first single to be released from the set, Hands Up, is a high speed and relentless ska journey with a stunning performance from vocalist Robbie, punctuated by the virtuosity of a rhythm section that is seemingly glued together and the infusion of styles from heavy rock to hip-hop and dub. As if that’s not enough, there’s a 6 piece horn section blowing the back door down too.

The proceeds (streaming and download revenue) from Hands Up are to be donated to Tonic Music for Mental Health, whose mission to raise mental health awareness, challenge stigma and promote mental wellbeing through music and the arts is very close to our hearts.
