I intend to do a first time skydive to raise money for Hestia which supports women and children fleeing from domestic abuse to find housing and support.
I am currently working voluntarily for Hestia and it helps women from all backgrounds,cultures, sexualities and religions to have better lives and it also helps the children staying at the refuges to have a better chance of a stable fulfilling life with happy parents.
I have a lot of respect for Hestia and its service users as it takes a lot of strength and support to enable women to be empowered to move out and on from a crisis situation.
This is mostly why I am prepared to fling myself out of a flying object strapped to a parachute in the hope that I will land again on the ground at some point and that it might be an amazing experience but something I will only ever experience once in my life time!(hopefully)
I hope the women and children in the refuges do not ever have to go through the trauma of domestic abuse and homelessness again ...ever.
The skydive is planned for Spring 2015 and I will be skydiving along with other people working for Hestia.
