This the 1st Volunteer Police Cadet Unit in The Thames Valley is aimed at young people aged from 13 to 19. Slough VPC has weekly meetings and regularly volunteers out Slough and helps on low level policing operations for the benefit of the community. Slough VPC is a youth diversion scheme not a recruitment tool for Police.You do NOT have to want to join the Police to join Slough VPC. The main aim of the scheme is to ensure that within a safe and structured programme that the cadets have FUN!

Why they need our service

In its first year Slough VPC donated 2800 volunteering hours to the community,they are an asset to Slough and many local community groups have benefited from their assistance.They are route for the police to consult with young people and have become a group of young people who talk to their peers about the positive work that the police are doing.The Slough Volunteer Police Cadets are changing the way slough thinks about young people and the way young people think about the police.
