Hi
I am running the Royal Park half for SLOW - Surviving the Loss of Your World. It's a brilliant charity that offers Support for Bereaved Parents and Siblings in London.
The reason I wanted to run for them is I felt it was a charity that I would have needed 17 years ago when my son Michael was on a life support machine and doctors were not sure of his chances of survival. Today I hope he might run the race with me, if he can actually manage to get out of bed!
I also wanted a challenge to get me to a fitter state; I gave my sister a kidney last year and suffered a few unexpected problems that made me very ill (don’t let that put you off donating it’s the best gift you could give and you don’t have to be a relative). I know I will not be fast but I am driven when I set my mind to something, especially when I have a very good trainer called Thomas (my 14 year old son).
Please help me raise more than my target of £400 for SLOW it will drive me on and help SLOW continue and expand on the fantastic work they do.
It would be great if you could share on facebook and twitter.
