Art4Space (A4S) runs a social prescribing programme in Lambeth in collaboration with local GP surgeries. The programme offers GP's the opportunity to refer patients struggling with mental health to participate in an A4S public mural project. Using art, creativity, and nature to support individuals' mental health and well-being. This is a vital cost-free alternative therapy service offered to those most in need in socially and economically deprived areas.

We are fundraising to support 15 individuals facing mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, and isolation. Through our transformative 10-week social prescribing group project participants engage in creative activities, resulting in the creation of a public mosaic to be installed at one of our partner GP surgeries.

Our dedicated team of artists, with expertise in education, mental health, counselling, and teaching individuals with learning difficulties, delivers the programme. Taking a person-centred approach, we tailor the activities to each participant's interests, needs, and goals. Alongside participating in a public art project participants are involved in the process of co-creating, developing, delivering, and evaluating the projects as part of the community group. It fosters creative expression, community connection, and a sense of empowerment.
