Songworks Tuesday Choir is putting on an Iranian Bake Sale to celebrate the tremendous courage and resilience the Iranian women featured in The Evin Prison Baker's Club . We will be raising money for a UK based charity IKWRO whose work safeguards and empowers women and girls against honour based abuse. https://ikwro.org.uk/
The baked goods will be made by our singers using the recipes featured in The Evin Prison Bakers Club a poignant memoir by Iranian political activist Sepideh Gholian, blending personal narratives of incarceration with recipes that symbolise resilience and solidarity among imprisoned women.
After the Bake Sale, we will do our best to let the author Sepidah Gholian (whether currently in or out of prison) know that her courage inspired us to came together in solidarity with her and all Iranian women dealing with the deeply mysoginistic regime.

Join us at The Arthouse cafe on Tottenham Lane, N8 to sample some delicious Iranian baked goods from recipies featured in The Evin Prison Bakers Club. We will be joined by Iranian friends who will jude the baked goods bake off style. Will be fun!
