It is that time of year again. The Jane Tomlinson 10K run is on July 14th. Last Year I ran for Leeds Mencap, thank you again for all your wonderful support. This year I am running for a Charity called Sunshine and Smiles. It is a charity set up by a group of parents including myself, offering support to families with a child or young person with Down Syndrome. Prior to this there was no support network in Leeds. We all have children with Down Syndrome so are aware of how important this is. As well as the regular groups, the charity organises trips, events, and we are currently setting up Speech and Language and Physiotherapy sessions, essential as so many of these services have been affected by funding cuts. We also want to raise awareness and the profile of Down Syndrome, ensuring all our children are given the best opportunity to reach their full potential.
