Members and staff from Oakwood Youth Club in Salford will take part in their annual sponsored challenge to paddle the length of Lake Windermere!! Young people, leaders, volunteers and parents will all take to the water together to complete the 17.5km paddle!

Getting outdoors is the perfect way for young people to get active, have fun and let off steam. The outdoor activities that Oakwood provide help young people to learn new skills, become more confident and meet new people. The watersports team is one of the best in the country. They regularly compete against (and beat!) young people from mainstream clubs, giving them a great sense of pride and belonging.

As a voluntary organisation that receives no regular funding, events like the sponsored paddle are vital to our survival. Every penny raised will go towards providing new outdoor pursuits and watersports activities for young people who have disabilities.
