In recent years I have come to the realisation that cycling allows you to cover more miles than walking and you see the countryside at a leisurely pace.
The challenge of 37 miles from Swinton to the Salfordian Hotel in Southport - a ‘home from home' for hundreds of Salford's elderly and disabled residents, sounded appealing and achievable and worthwhile.
I will be doing the cycle with a group of colleagues from Salford City Council, but as there were a few available spaces left, my partner Charles is coming along too for the ride, to mend any punctures and to make sure I don't get left behind.
We'd both love to raise as much money as we can for the Salfordian Trust to keep the hotel going, but small amounts from lots of people would be very acceptable.
Thank you all in advance for any donations to this .
