Each year the surgery chooses a charity and we hold events to help raise vital funds - this year we have chosen St Petrocs.
They believe homelessness shouldn’t be an issue in our society today and they are working to end street homelessness in Cornwall by providing accommodation, support, advice, training and resettlement services to single homeless people.
EVENTS:
Nov 7th - Sleep out at Eden
Four members of staff are joing hundreds of people to sleep out at Eden and experience what it could be like to homeless. Sleep Out doesn’t aim to replicate homelessness, but it does show you some of the realities – the cold, the damp, the noise and the difficulty of carrying on your day with little sleep.
Jan 11th - Unwanted Xmas Gift Sale and Coffee morning
Coffee, refreshments and a sale of some lovely quality unwanted Christmas gifts is being held at Carnon Downs Village Hall from 10am - 12 noon. Last year we raised over £800 so come along join us for a morning cuppa and a bargain.
Socks & Soap Drop
The charity told us it would be really useful to donate toiletries for the people that visit the drop in centre so we will have a large collection point for patients and staff to donate soap, toothpaste, shaving gel, combs - anything at all all gratefully received. We also thought if you wanted to donate something a little bit more then drop in some new socks (male or female).
