
We make contact with young people in their chosen setting to gain an understanding of their lifestyle and to build mutual respect.We provide information on healthy lifestyle choices, and encourage young people to explore their attitudes towards issues such as alcohol, sex, drugs, self esteem, bullying, community in a responsible manner.We work to support young people in making informed decisions about forming and sustaining a range of relationships, with friends, parents, partners and community.
Why they need our serviceWe aim to reduce the number of early/unplanned pregnancies, S.T.I's and terminations in young people.We operate the C Card scheme, and access to condoms as appropriate.We work to bridge the gaps in understanding between young people and their local communities, to improve the quality of life in the area.We work with partner agencies to increase local service delivery to young people.
Plan and expected resultsThe work that Street Talk undertake contributes to reducing the teenage conception rate, the youth crime rate, NEETs targets, alcohol and substance use. The team promote volunteering and signpost young people into positive activities so they adopt active lifestyles and contribute to their community.
