StreetDraw24 raises awareness of the pressing issue of homelessness through 24 hour from-the-street drawing events in towns and cities across the UK. Always ending at midday on the 24th of a month, these events involve drawers and artists of all abilities and all ages generating original images from the street across 24 hours.
Images are posted and shared using the #streetdraw24 tag during the 24 hour event and the best used after to benefit local charities dealing with street homelessness.
During each event some taking part draw from the streets for a solid 24 hours drawing attention to the reality that for too many people in the UK the streets are their only home and where they live 24/7.
For this pilot event funds raised will go to St Petroc's Society whose mission is "to provide accommodation, support, advice, training and resettlement services to single homeless people in Cornwall. Within resources available, we strive to provide the best quality of service possible. Our primary aim is to provide these services to people aged 16-65 years for whom no provision is made within the community, either statutory or otherwise."
