
The Swindon Children's Scrapstore is a registered charity, community resource centre and social enterprise providing the Swindon community with low cost environmentally friendly resources. The Scrapstore aims to: Protect and Preserve the environment for public benefit in Swindon and surrounding areas, in particular by: Collecting, storage and redistribution of reusable waste for art and crafts.-Advancing the education of the public and promoting the benefits of all aspects of waste re-use.
Why they need our serviceThe Scrapstore has been supporting the local community with low cost resources for the past 28 years, diverting over 100 tonnes of reusable materials from landfill back into reuse for the benefit of the local community every year. The resources and services provided through the Scrapstore projects benefits over 80,000 people in Swindon each year.
Plan and expected resultsThe community will benefit through the continued sustainability of the Scrapstore. All kinds of treasures can be found at the Scrapstore household paint, wall tiles, carpet tiles, paper, picture frames, fabric, foam and all manner of art and craft materials. The materials are made available to the entire community: individuals, families, schools, playgroups. Scrapstore is a great resource school events, art projects and other creative endeavours.
