This year I am doing The Rat Race with a great group of friends from Felixstowe DIY Bootcamp. I'd like to raise money for my work's chosen charity at Haven Power which is 'Brickmakers Wood' - part of the Eden-Rose Coppice Trust Ltd.
Brickmakers Wood is a fantastic local charity which has transformed run down town centre woodlands into sanctuaries for people living with cancer or terminal illness.
Brickmakers Wood is in Ipswich and is also used for young people, especially those with learning disabilities, serious illness or behavioural problems, who work with mentors or carers and develop the site for the pallitive care visitors.
By donating to the charity it will help both children and adults who need it the most by giving them a place they can visit for contemplation or simply to get away.
The Rat Race is held on May 6th at Burghley House - home of the famous Burghley Horse Trials later in the year. It is advertised as 'the worlds biggest obstacle course' over 20 miles and tackling 200 obstacles along the way.
