Why Yorda Adventures?
John and Anne will be cycling in memory of their close friend Margaret Haynes who died in December 2018. Margaret's teenage granddaughter, Alanni, has been supported by Yorda for many years so John and Anne have witnessed first hand what an incredible job they do and why they need all the support they can get. In John and Anne's own words: "What better way to honour Margaret's memory and in some small way help this charity carry on doing its amazing work."

The cyclists
John and Anne Smith have been functional cyclists all their lives - cycling to work, Anne as a district nurse cycling round her patients; but it was only in their 50s that they discovered the delights of cycle touring when a colleague of John's persuaded them to join a group cycling around Belgium - he said it was flat!  

This was also their first outing on a tandem. Since then they have always said 'yes' to any invites to cycle further than the local shops with rides around Europe, the Western Isles of Scotland and even some of the more scenic parts of this country!  In recent years these rides have often been with Cliff and Dee Saffrey who also love riding a tandem. Cliff and Dee will once again be joining John and Anne to lend them moral and practical support as they take on this Land's End to John O'Groats challenge.
