The Big Half

As some of you will know I have volunteered at the Big Red Bus Club for many years. Throughout my time I have formed very good friendships with people I have meet there and it has helped me find my confidence again after becoming a mum. Now it is my time to give something back to them. For anyone who hasn't been to the club before, let me describe it to you. It is a little building in the corner of Charlton Park, that is open throughout the term for families with children under 5's to come and play. Over the past year we have gone through many changes (we have become a charity for one), we have seen some great free to use sessions start up (our Monday Play Plus session for SEND families) and we have some lovely new volunteers join the team (as well as some lovely one leave us). However there is a project that we would like to see come to the area, which is very close to my heart, and one in which I believe would be fantastic for the families in the local area. Our aim is to raise money to start a project called Baby Blues Choir. This would be for any mum with PND to come along, with their baby, and meet others in the same position. So what can you do to help, I hear you cry? I have roped in a few people to join me in this fundraising challenge and together we are going to run the Big Half on 4th March. This is a half marathon starting at Tower Bridge and finishing in Greenwich, with a route taking in some of the London Marathon sights. As you know running is now a big part of my life and has helped me through some tough times. I am so very grateful to be given this opportunity to run for a charity so close to my heart and would be very grateful if you could take a moment to help sponsor me, and the Big Red Bus Club.
