Over the past few weeks I have been working for Stay Up Late, a charity which promotes the rights of people with learning disability by supporting them having the lifestyle they wish to lead.
The charity supports individuals to have a social life which many people take for granted. People with learning disabilities may struggle to have a full and active social life because of the lack of support, particularly in the evenings and nights.
This charity aims to do this by matching individuals to a volunteer, someone who has similar interests so that they can go to events together. Many individuals are waiting to be matched with a buddy, or need donations in order to go out and have a social life.
I am running a half marathon in Seaford on the 29th July to raise money to support this charity.
