Myself, Tracey Bird and my good Friend Laura McPhillips are going to jump out of a plane, we will each be doing a Tandem Sky Dive from up to 13,000 feet to raise money for The collet School - We need to raise at least £800 in order to do this so please give anything you can no matter how small! Every few pence helps!
The Collett School is a “very” special school attended by children from all over Hertfordshire and the neighbouring Counties.
Our children have many syndromes including Down's and 50% of our children have Autism. Two of our pupils have very rare diagnosis, one who is one of only two in the world and another who is one of only six in the world. Almost half of our children are under Great Ormond Street Hospital. Nearly 50% of our pupils come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds; some are in care or fostered. We are the only "Special" school in Hertfordshire who cater for 4 to 17 year olds and one of the lowest funded.
The Collett School is striving to become a flagship for special education by changing the perception of and the way our children learn and grow. Our mission is to support the children to grow in confidence and as much independence as possible allowing them to be part of society and contribute to the community.
