We now offer an intensive six or seven week telephone support programme. Clients will arrange to speak to a specially trained volunteer on the phone and have an opportunity to work through a specially adapted programme offering them similar opportunities to talk about their thoughts and feelings
Why they need our serviceNot everyone who contacts us finds it easy to get to the Centre in Yate. This may be because of distance and transport challenges or it may be because of work committments. We aim to ensure that everyone who asks for our help and support will find it
Plan and expected resultsWe have already seen our waiting list reduced. Most clients who choose telephone support are positive about their experience - one client said "It was very beneficial to discuss this with a professional, who understood the after effects and not feel judged about my choices or feelings" Another commented "Very specific, helpful and poignant. I now understand my feelings are normal" We want to train more volunteers to equip them to work on the telephone so we can offer this service to more people
