We want to provide an interactive community facility where all are welcome, especially single people, those who feel lonely and out of touch with society, mothers and children to meet and greet, those wishing for just some where to go in a warm, inviting and friendly atmosphere. Anyone is welcome to use the cafe without pressure to purchase and to stay as long as they wish, to talk to the staff or just to be alone in a peaceful environment
Why they need our serviceWe have held two public open days for the public to look around the centre, ask questions and leave comments and talk to our trustees and supporters; plus a public meeting chaired by our County Councillor, again to get the communities views on what they want from this community resource. All these views have and will continue to be taken into account in our plans. In addition, we have and will react to requests for further facilities and use of the centre.
Plan and expected resultsWe are getting requests for further activities and need financial support to renovate further space and to fund the running costs. In time sessions such as the following will be considered - British sign language & Lip reading. Extend the weekly youth cafe to a second day a week. Extend a trial Children's Craft sessions. Digital photography, Piano sessions, Family history courses
