Update: I completed the run in the respectable time of 1 hour, 54 mins and 22 seconds!
Hi Friends, Colleagues and Friends of Friends,
I'm running The Big Half (21.3km) on Sunday 22nd August 2021 to raise money for The Big Red Bus Club. This is a charity local to my work at the Thames Barrier who have a whole family approach to wellbeing, including families with children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities.
Their current activities include:
Daily Stay and Play
Large and Legging It - a running group for women to get fitter, make connections and set real life goals
Speaking stories - a session to help families and children regain confidence in speaking post lockdown
Speak Up - a group to support under 5s in exploring and developing their English Language prior to ESOL classes or crecheFor me, this will also be a major milestone as it's the first bit of 'semi competitive' sport since breaking my ankle in February 2018 and tearing my ACL in May 2019.
