I will be supporting the gruelling Ring of Fire 5 day charity bike ride again this year, with funds raised being shared between Milton Keynes Rugby Club and Willen Hospice. We all have our preferred charities if these are not at the top of your list maybe you can consider supporting my efforts to help others. My Job again this year will be part of the support crew (sounds easy) this will include at least two 7 day recce's to ensure the route is suitable and safe for the 40 strong mixed ability group. Driving the support vehicles to the start point with the 40 bikes plus all the spares and catering equipment, starting at 5.30-6.00am every morning, prepare the bikes for the day, preparing and serving at least three meals a day to the riders, sweeping up broken riders and bikes before ending the day around 7pm.
MKRUFC is not all about the 1st Team, we have a huge mini and junior section with a strong link to the community and schools in Milton Keynes. Lets get the kids off the streets and into local sport.
We have some very generous people that donate the cost of the event so 100% raised goes directly to the charities.
