The purpose of this project is to build a new Family Support & Complementary Therapy Centre which will provide additional treatment/respite facilities for our child and adult patients with life limiting illnesses. The construction of this new Centre will offer a solution to the major issues we are currently facing concerning the lack of space and facilities which affects our ability to offer an appropriate level of privacy and dignity for our child and adult patients when undergoing treatments.

Demand for complementary therapy and bereavement support services has grown dramatically over the last few years. It is evident that something is working but unfortunately demand now currently exceeds availability and we no longer have the space or the facilities to accommodate this growing demand for our services. Nor do we have the space to accommodate the ever increasing need for bereavement counselling and family support which many families and carers are now requesting on a daily basis.

By collaborating and working in partnership with other organisations,there will be new commissioning opportunities and significant efficiency savings and we will be able to share best practice both on a regional and national level. To date, we have successfully generated over 50% of our target figure of £687,901 and we feel that we could make a lasting change within our community.
