We are delighted to host our inaugural Ilkley RFC juniors international T5s on Sunday 7th April in aid of local children's charity, The Principle Trust.
They've shouted 'run forwards' and 'pass back' at you for long enough, now let's see if they can do it themselves.
The Principle Trust Children's Charity provides free respite breaks to children across Yorkshire who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, have disabilities or additional needs, face life-limiting conditions, or have experienced poverty, trauma, or abuse.
The charity owns and operate six holiday homes; two in the Windermere and four in Blackpool. Their 100% donations policy ensures every penny raised from events and marketing directly benefits children and their families.
Their aims are to help to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and their families at a time when their circumstances may prove difficult or challenging. As well as this, they want all children to experience the fun and excitement of what a holiday or time away can bring. We know that a break away in a different environment can open up opportunities for children getting involved in different activities which can help to boost confidence and help with social interaction.
Additionally, families benefit from their ‘Food For Families’ initiative, with its aim in helping combat food poverty and the cost-of-living crisis, each family will receive a food hamper when they holiday with the charity, containing essentials food items for the whole family. Not only does this prevent the children from going hungry, but also the ability for families to afford to try exciting activities which they may not have had the chance to experience otherwise.
Thank you sincerely for being a part of this and helping The Principle Trust Children's Charity make memories that last.
