In a nutshell, I am hiking the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge from Chale to Cowes on Saturday 30th April 2022.
Those who know me, know that I am a fairly experienced walker. However 52km in one day will be a first for me! This will be particularly difficult not just because of the 1100m climb, but because I have spent almost two years working from home on my laptop, which means that these days even walking to the local shop is a challenge for me. I most certainly have a need to get moving in preparation for this one.
The reason I am doing this is to raise money for a charity that is very dear to me, The Caspari Foundation. The Caspari Foundation are leading trainers and providers of Educational Psychotherapy (EPT). EPT offers an alternative approach to psychotherapy that is less direct than talking therapies and at the same time creates a safe space for exploration of the child or young persons feelings. This is ideal for any child or young person who struggles to talk about their issues or feelings. Through creative and learning tools, children and young people learn how to express themselves both through their creations and with their words. Other benefits also include improved relationships with the teachers, adults and peers in their lives.
Raising money for The Caspari Foundation will enable more children or young people have access to Educational Psychotherapy who could really benefit. As an Educational Psychotherapist, I have been able to witness first hand how transformative this treatment can be for children and young people. Please donate and help Caspari reach more families, children and young people.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! So so grateful to everyone who donates
