We have been planning for 10 years for the building of our new craft centre for the use of adults with a learning disability who are resident on site and live locally.It will house a Pottery,Weavery,Seasonal craft workshop and multi purpose workshop space.

We feel that there is a lack of meaningful day opportunities for adults with a learning disability in the locality.The workshops give the opportunity for people with a learning disability to work together, each within his or her own capabilities, to contribute towards creating a finished product. Our activities, we believe, will be judged by the products we produce. We strive to make our products attractive and of high quality so that they stand out in this age of mass production.

The whole of the Lantern Community are very excited about the start of the building of our new craft centre.We have waited a long time,working in old converted garages, and these new purpose built workshops will not only be more suitable but will also enable many more people to access our services.
