The Listening Sessions & Quiz are a series of monthly fundraising gigs held at South Street Arts Centre, with a pub style quiz and live music event. The Listening Sessions build up to our annual "Are You Listening? Festival" held on the last Saturday in April in multiple venues in Reading town centre. Last year, a £10 wrist band allowed the public to see up to 50 bands and DJs in 7 music venues. £8,250 was raised!

The Listening Sessions will support one of our clubs at Reading Mencap. Our fortnightly 'Coffee Club' supports some of our adult members with learning disabilities and difficulties. These members are living in the community but unable to work (due to their disabilities) and who are often isolated & excluded from the general community. Our Coffee Clubbers are very active in promoting the charity and getting involved in fundraising. They also love live music!

Proceeds from The Listening Sessions will fund fun days out for our Coffee Club, cooking sessions, arts & craft activities, trips to the garden centre etc. The club aims to encourage independence and living skills, confidence and social skills. Some of our Coffee Clubbers will be helping to run The Listening Sessions!
