This Girl Can team is thrilled to be taking part as a team in the Bradford Lord Mayor's Appeal Dragon Boat Festival on the 7th May 2016 in Roberts Park, Saltaire.
The Lord Mayor’s Appeal in 2016 is supporting two charities - Bradford Hospital’s Children’s Charity and the “Spread a Smile” appeal. Let me tell you a little about both of these.
Bradford Hospitals Children's Charity are raising money for a sensory room, multi-use gym for children with cystic fibrosis and innovative distraction toys to equip a new state of the art childrens ward for acutely poorly children and babies at Bradford Royal Infirmary. Whilst the NHS are funding the new build, these extras will really improve the quality of care and the childrens experience of staying in hospital more comfortable and enjoyable.
The other half of the Appeal will go to the “Spread a Smile” Appeal which enables small groups across the Bradford District to fulfil their dreams without having to spend too much extra time seeking the funding for worthwhile projects, events and activities which give great benefit to their communities.
This Girl Can team all work for Bradford Council and are committed to improving the lives of Bradfords Children and Communities - in and out of their normal job roles which range from staff in Sports Centres and Swimming Pools to the Chief Executive
