I boxed as a kid and more recently as a Thai Boxer. Since deciding I wanted to be part of this charity's show I have realised that taking away my kicks leaves me feeling a lot less comfortable. Unfortunately Jay Keelan my closest weight and size match at the matching event already has a date with Mike Dique so I have bravely or stupidly depending on your mindset agreed to a fight around 3 weight divisions up against a 12 stone giant of a fella.
So my fight should be a very interesting one. In my head it's David and Goliath or like a lumberjack chopping down a tree but I have a sneaky feeling that Joe is seeing it as an easy knock out victory for him.
That's why boxing is exciting 3 X 2 mins let's see who the best man on the night is.
So I am on the opposite journey to most of you after Xmas I'm trying to put a stone or two on.
Win Lose or Draw I will be having a drink with Joe after and I'm very proud to be supporting the following cause
Mat's Story
12 months ago Mathew Rimmer, suffered a devastating brain hemorrhage caused by a heart infection. Following emergency lifesaving brain surgery, he was spent 2 weeks on life support in a coma.
The Riff Raff went to visit Mat recently and were really inspired by his 'never give up' attitude and positive spirit to the life changing challenges that lay before him. He is facing a real battle to get anywhere near back to a decent standard of living, but thankfully, there are no set in stone restrictions as to how far Mat can develop with the right, consistent treatments.
He needs expensive specialist speech therapy and movement physio. These therapies cost upwards of £100 per session and to really make a difference, Mat needs lots of them.!
This is where the Riff Raff come in, as we believe the Riff Raff can really make a difference and help drive Mat's recovery with your support - Your sponsorship will make a big difference, please help x
