Morrocco here I come……
For those that know me well, understand my journey working within both Adult and Children’s Social Care began from my personal life experience in 2002. A 21 year journey which has allowed me to meet and work with the most weird and wonderful people who are and always will be my friends for life.
On the 12th November 2023 I have agreed to trek 100km across the Sahara Desert to fundraise for Nugent, the charity I joined the Charity in January 2023. Personally, 2023 has been a tough year for me and my family and Nugent have given me personal support and hope together with an opportunity professionally to further develop my skills and leadership style.
Working with marginalised individuals is a huge part of me – my beliefs and my values. My work ethic is driven by helping others and trying to make a difference to people’s lives in some small way. 100km across the Sahara will be tough…life is tough, we all in life need a helping hand, a kind word, someone to listen and not judge us!! This is my thank you – please help me to raise funds which will help Nugent's Brighter Futures Project make a difference to so many lives. The ‘Brighter Futures’ project is an incredible initiative which aims to uplift disadvantaged communities and creates a lasting impact. The project identifies four key priorities which we are raising awareness and funds, including: Mentorship and Work Experience, Accommodation for 18+, Making memories and Poverty Alleviation
