On 30th April I will be running the Hackney Half Marathon to raise money for Gendered Intelligence, so that young trans people aged 11 - 25 can go on a trans only youth camp this summer!
Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a not-for profit, community interest group, that supports young trans and gender questioning people under 21. This includes running trans youth groups across the uk, deliver mentoring to students who need a bit of extra support at school / uni, and training professionals in gender diversity and awareness.
Every summer for the past 6 years, Gendered Intelligence have taken two groups of trans youth on a 3 night camping trip. The trip is truly special as it offers GI youth a trans inclusive, supportive and non-judgemental environment to have lots of fun and just enjoy being young. For many it is the first time they have felt able to go swimming with people their age, and for some the first time they get to have their name and pronouns respected all day.
The trip is paid for from money raised through fundraising. It costs £345 to take one young person camping. Please help me reach this target and pay for one young persons place on the trip!
All donations, no matter how small are greatly appreciated.
If you can't help financially this time around, you can still help by spreading the message and sharing this page with your friends and/or family!
