Depression and anxiety... I bet we all know someone that has it, is recovering or doesn't know why they are feeling the way they are.
During lockdown, mine came back with a vengeance. Whilst throwing in the sea helped, I wanted more information I could use to support me and other people experiencing the 'Lockdown Blues'. I stumbled on the Blurt Foundation.
I've scoured resources, bought with purpose and shouted loud and proud about their resources. But I want to take a step further and raise some bank for such an amazing Plymouth charity.
Because we need to talk more about mental health.
So, I'm putting on my big girl sport bra and training for the Blue Mile swim, Plymouth 10km and Tavi sprint triathlon in a few short weeks. I'm not an athlete, just a normal person who has had a crazy idea.
The events are as follows (drum role please):
Blue Mile - 30/08 - 1 mile sea swim
Plym 10km - 05/09 - 10km run (the dread is real)
Tavi Tri - 12/09 - 400m swim, 19km bike ride, 5km run
I won't be fast, it will be painful and I will probably cry at the end!
Chip in what you can for whatever reason - even if it's just for entertainment!
