Triathlon for Say When

A man wakes up choking in the middle of the night. He fights for breath struggling to understand what has gripped his body. The attack subsides but the shock remains. The moment is a turning point, a trigger for a detective like search in to what just happened. Say When is a new play Living Pictures will produce in 2019. While getting the play ready for performance we want to capture the process as a documentary. Obesity is an 'epidemic' according to the press . Why are people struggling when gym memberships are going up, diet plans proliferate the market place and everyone seems to have some knowledge of what they should be doing. Robbie's Mum's favourite phrase is: Perseverance will out. Say when looks at Robbie's existential 'wrestle' with the battle of the bulge. We follow him through the maze of diets, 'expert' advice from scientists, nutritionists and the media. Can he find enough meaning to lose weight and keep it off for good? Funnily enough a report on the efficacy of diets in The Independent found that no one diet works in itself, but that all diets can be successful with one key ingredient - Perseverance. Robbie will need plenty of that as he undertakes a Triathlon challenge to help raise money for this project. It takes place on the 29th of September and we hope you can help.
