I must be crazy, I must be mad. I said I would never do it again, but here we go... Ring of Fire is back and I will be part of the team raising important funds for Milton Keynes RUFC and Willen Hospice.
In 2022 we will be joining forces with our local charity partner Willen Hospice with all funds shared between MKRUFC and Willen.
The Challenge - Bezier to Barcelona
Tuesday 17th - Sunday 22nd May 2022
Our journey sees our team cycle from Beziers, France to Limoux, then on to Perpignan, before crossing the Lower Pyrenees from Argeles into Spain. Down to Cadaques on the Cap de Creus , then the last day takes us via Girona area to Barcelona, Spain.
360 miles over 4 days...with lots of bumps to contend with. Some very challenging cycling!!
The MKRUFC is not a team of 'hard core' cyclists but rather a gathering of lapsed athletes, ex rugby players and friends of the club that happen to own a bicycle and care about 'giving' to our community. Please please help us in our efforts 🙏🏻
We are asking all cyclists and support staff to try and give 1 days salary per month for the six months leading up to the ride. This will help us achieve our ambitious fund raising goal. In turn we would like to cover 2 days of full costs for Willen...more on that later.
MKRUFC - A community rugby club in Milton Keynes, Bucks, UK. This appeal is to raise funds to help develop our rugby club, and to continue to offer and develop rugby and sports training to all in our community.
Willen Hospice - Willen Hospice is the only adult care Hospice in Milton Keynes. As one of the most loved charities in the local area, who have cared for patients for over 40 years. Willen provides compassionate, personal end of life care at our Hospice and in people’s homes, helping patients live well every day, and die with dignity. This exceptional care is given free of charge.
