I am running the Hackney Half Marathon on the 16th of May, to help Made in Hackney build a community kitchen at Clapton Commons.
Made In Hackney deliver, ‘health by stealth’ cookery classes, and have an exciting range of class themes and courses that seek to directly address barriers to healthy, sustainable eating. Courses and class themes therefore empower and give people the skills to improve their health and wellbeing, in spite of challenging circumstances. These classes include Fifteen Minute Meals, Feed 4 for £3s, Cooking For 1, Make your own Take-Away – and more.
Working in partnership with the community group Clapton Commons, MIH will turn an abandoned toilet block into a beautiful new community kitchen and meeting place – Liberty Hall. .
Your donation will help Made in Hackney meet the costs of building the community kitchen at Clapton Commons. And if you're passing Clapton Common and you see a fab little community centre in a converted loo, you can say, I helped make that happen!
