I have been intrinsically involved non-stop in helping bring together the Bradford Dragonboat Festival this last year.
The Festival is primarily to help raise funds for the Bradford Lord Mayors Appeal who are supporting Young Minds this year whilst engaging the youth in positive play and sport... it also brings together a fantastic community and our effervescent Bradfordian spirit.
It is important to do this for a positive future for the next generation.
More and more young people are suffering stress, anxiety and are finding it difficult to air their issues.
We as adults seem to have little time to notice, or in fact deal with these issues, which is a crying shame.
Kids literally have no-one to talk to about genuine issues.
Young Minds helps here and gives that time and dedicated focus where we grown ups miss a beat. It's also easier for kids to talk to impartial adults, just as it is for us adults.
Please help raise funds for the fantastic work being done and more so, please help with the awareness of such a silent and crippling issue by talking to your loved ones and spending time with them.
I do hope to reach my target, but more so, I hope that you have managed to encourage you to listen and hear someone to make that difference.
