The building which we shall lease from the Council is semi-derelict and needs a new roof, new electrics inside, and completely insulating and redecorating. It must be fit for use by disabled visitors and volunteers. We are hoping to get grant funding for most of the cot, but we need funds just to keeep going while we do that!

Once the building is ready we shall set up our lovely model railway which you will be able to come and see any weekends or school holidays. If all goes well we shall open the model railway to the public some time next year. In the meantime you can help us get the model railway ready by volunteering with us. When the model railway building is open to the public you will be able to come and see the progress we have made with the model railway. We shall get the Chinley model working first. Then we will set up a branch line to a fictitious village called Darley Green. After that we want to add a canal basin, and a model of an inclined rope-worked railway, like the old Cromford & High Peak Railway. You may push buttons to make the fairground work, or to work the locomotive turntable or other exhibits.
