The project will get 4000 young people aged 16-25 volunteering in their own community creating in total 8710 new volunteering opportunities for young people over the three year period. The scheme also aims to fight the negative media image of a minority of young people by promoting the majority- it will show 4000 young people in Berkshire alone being mature, conscientious and caring.

The BACYP v scheme has supported 900 young people to volunteer within their community over the last 18 months.

BACYP and the vinvolved team aims to do this by working with and building upon the current voluntary sector infrastructure, funding the creation of volunteering opportunities through grant rounds and implementing programmes to create awareness and positive understanding of volunteering for young people.
