Run Reigate Half Marathon for Stripey Stork!
So this is my first half marathon in about 5 years - and my first big run since having children! I am now older, wiser, fatter and slower, but am looking forward to bumbling around the country lanes of Reigate without the fear of being squished by any Surrey tractors. I was umming and aahing about doing the run, when i was invited to support the great local family charity Stripey Stork. This fabulous initiative supports local health workers by supplying items for the families that they help. The volunteer run organisation collect donations of equipment, clothes, toys an other items for babies and children and distribute them to families experiencing hardship in East Surrey and surrounding areas. In 2016 they responded to 815 requests for help, and redistributed 2,631 items. These can range from the donation of a specific pushchair for a family with a baby with acute health needs, to supporting a mum fleeing a situation that leaves her children with nothing but the clothes they stand in. Any donation, however small, will be gladly put to excellent use, so please dig deep! Jo x
