Its seems totally appropriate on World Down's Syndrome Day that I launch my fundraising page. I'm running the leeds 10k on July 9th as part of team Sunshine and Smiles who provide invaluable support to children with Down's Syndrome and their families. I've been privileged to be part of Adam's life from the start. I have had the pleasure of watching him grow into the beautiful young man he is today . He shows courage, determination and a complete joy for life that is something we can all learn from. Most of you will know I am no athlete! However, less than a year after breaking a metatarsal and 5 years after dislocating and breaking my ankle in multiple places, I decided to give running ago and I have just completed my first 10km race. Now its time to do it in Adams name. Adam you show me that life is for the taking. There might be obstacles along the way but with the right help and support there is nothing you can't do. So I'm running this one for you buddy! You and your family dispell the myths surrounding Down's Syndrome everyday and I couldnt be prouder to be part of your lives .
