Hi Everyone, my name is Sophie and I am a curate at St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire. I am undertaking to walk 408 miles between the 1st March & 1 November. I will be doing this to raise awareness of COP26 and to raise funds for Dewi's Acre, a community garden project.

Dewi's Acre is a community garden open to everyone to be involved and we are committed to providing a space of refuge, biodiversity, community and rest, in what can only be described as a secret garden in the Cathedral Close. I am really passionate about creation care. As a Christian, I believe that we all have responsibility to care for the Creation God gave us. In fact, it was given to us that we might be in relation to it and steward it as an equal partnership. What has happened, is that humanity has instead taken over, used and abused this creation as if it were their right to do so, and so the relationship between humanity and creation has broken down. The garden I hope will be just a small part of our efforts to relieve the pressure we put on creation, by allowing for opportunities to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, to provide space for community to come together, and be a place for wildlife and biodiversity to flourish.

COP26 or the Conference of the parties is the UN Climate Change conference, this years conference is pivotal if we are to make a difference to the long term prospects of our planet.

Please will you help me raise some funds for the community garden project - Dewi's Acre. With your help we hope to install a pond and Hibernaculum, which will encourage biodiversity, build a potting shed for all those eager gardeners, and to make a safe space within the garden for the younger members of our community, including putting in a rope bridge and providing mud kitchens and other goodies for play, and creativity.
