Walk for Watermark

This Christmas ABS UK staff will be raising funds for a Community Foundation for Calderdale flood fund called Watermark. Watermark Calderdale is a campaign to build a resilience fund for our towns for future flooding. Their aim is to build a pot of money that can be accessed by businesses & households immediately when future floods hit (because they will – it may be 5 years time or it may be next week!). On Boxing Day 2015 Over 2000 homes, 1500 businesses and six schools were affected by some of the worst flooding in living memory. Today, some 300 household's are still not back in their homes. ABS staff are taking on the challenge of walking to some of the main flood spots of Calderdale, a distance of 34.7 miles, all in 24 hours. The route is as follows: Start: ABS UK HQ ROKT (Brighouse) Copley Sowerby Bridge Mytholmroyd Hebden Bridge Todmorde Cornholme Finish: Sowerby Bridge The 'Walk for Watermark' will take place on Thursday 22nd December. Our target is £4000 and any donations big or small are much appreciated.
