Warden Abbey Vineyard is a unique community and educational resource on the site of a medieval vineyard tended by monks at the Cistercian Abbey of Warden. We aim to provide social, health and educational benefits for Bedfordshire while making high-quality wines. The vineyard is lovingly cared for all year round by local people giving their time to the project.

Why they need our service

We work with other local charities, organisations and local schools to offer horticultural therapy; learning and skills development; help for people into employment or voluntary work; a range of volunteering opportunities for local people and community groups, and a great chance to be involved from vine to wine; and wildlife and heritage projects.

Plan and expected results

The project will increase understanding and appreciation of the countryside and local heritage; improve people's physical and mental health; reduce social isolation, and provide volunteering and work experience.
