Salford Foodbank was started about 7 years ago by a group of volunteers to provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are experiencing a crisis situation in their lives. I was part of the initial team that set it up and saw first-hand the devastating consequences of food poverty on peoples lives.
Due to the increase in demand, Salford Foodbank has grown substantially with various distribution centres across the city. They are now seeking financial support to sustain this vitally important service so that we can combat poverty and hunger in the region.
I will be running the Manchester 10k for the children and adults suffering in our local community. I know that any money donated, no matter how small, will make a massive difference.
